Brewers North 6, Oakland Oaks 25+ 4
The Brewers squared off against the Oaks in a wood bat game for their 2nd meeting of the year hoping to avenge the 6-2 loss at San Raf h.s. on 5/17. We didn't get off to a good start by giving up 2 runs in the top of the first due to an eggrarious Brusco pick off attempt and a Physco Hughes error playing SS. Psycho made a game between his world traveling & coin collecting excursion. He's now in Columbia picking coffee beans in exchange for the local coins. Skip Long of the Oaks was pitching well, striking out 8 Brewers in his 5 innings of work. He got another run of support in the 3rd to stake the Oaks to a 3-0 lead. The Brewers finally broke through in the 4th lead by jason barringer who stroked a single stole 2B & was knocked in by the slovenly Woody. By the way, Woody lived up to his nickname by refusing to wash his uni after catching about 59 innings & playing in a golf tourney all day. The boy was ripe, but he did go 2-4 w/ 3 RBI's.! Brewer starter and marbles champ, Ryan Brusco was starting to get his act together throwing scoreless 4-6 innings & earning his 3rd win while striking out 3. The Brewers scored 4 in the 5th on a WP, 2 Woody RBI's & a Steven F. Kosach 2 out single to put the Brewers ahead 5-3. The Brewers tacked on a another run when Barringer cracked a 2 bagger off the fence in LF. He scored when Thirsty Joe Sac flied him in. The Oaks gave us a little scare when Mike Rocca did his best John Wetteland immitation by walking 2 & hitting a batter allowing a run in the 9th before striking out the last batter to end the game. Brewers 6-4. Another well played game by the Oaks. T Money Lopez earned some dough by going 2-4.
