Brewers North 4, White Sox 25+ 1
The Brewers and the White Sox had a rare pitchers' dual at Marin Catholic HS on Sunday in a wood bat game. The Brewers scored 3 in the first, but then were shutdown for six innings before they managed to squeek one more home in the eighth. Luckily their pitching was stellar and they prevailed by the score of 4-1.
Tyler Fitch had his best outing of the year going 6 strong innings. Tyler only walked one while striking out eight and only giving up 4 hits (none after the 2nd inning) with one earned run. Rocca then closed down the last three innings giving up two hits, walking one and striking out one while giving up no runs. Other than nearly breaking his thumb on a nasty tailing fastball, Captain/catcher Woody liked what he saw!
Offensively the Brewers got off to a fast start in the first but then cooled off. They were lead by a still-on-fire Kosach who went 3-4 with 2 RBI's and a stolen base. Jimmy "Jeans" continued to show his back-to-back Brewer MVP pedigree by going 2-3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Joe-Joe had 2 hits, Barringer a hit and run, Petke had one hit, one RBI, one run scored and 1 stolen base, and Thiago "Pick Up Your Money" had one hit as well.
And most suprisingly the Brewers managed to play 9 innnings (that's 27 straight outs) with no errors.
And y'all will never believe the shenanigans that Malcolm "Five", "The Commissioner" Heinicke got into on the base paths. Looking like a possum trying to cross the road Malc got picked off 2nd base with no one covering. I ain't fibben' when I tell you that he was a runnin' to 3rd base like drunk cow that had broken into the still. Of course, later in the game he managed to steal his first base since 2001, but that don't make no matter.
Oh, and Thiago got snipered coming around 3rd base ... that was funny too.
