Royals 4, White Sox 2 March 28, 2004, 10:30 AM Game Recap
Royals 4, White Sox 2
Sunday was a perfect day for baseball at Benicia High School as the Royals posted a 4-2 victory over the White Sox. Taking the hill for the Royals was veteran hurler Terry Kintz, who looked sharp in his first outing of the year, yielding 2 earned runs and striking out 6. Despite the loss, Pat Carroll pitched a solid game for the Sox, keeping the Royals off balance much of the day striking out 10 batters.
The Royals took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and added 3 more in the fourth. With 2 outs, back to back doubles by Rokiki and Kintz followed by back to back singles by Ulliman and Ringhoffer pushed the runs across.
The White Sox came right back in the fifth with Neves pounding out a double with one out. Durbrow followed that up with a 2 run blast to right center, closing the scoring gap to 4-2. Neither team would score again, and the game ended as Matt Ringhoffer recovered from a bobbled ball at second base in time to throw out the advancing runner at third base for the final out of the game.
Terry Kintz helped his cause at the plate, collecting 2 hits, an rbi, and scoring 2 runs. Rookie Mike Ulliman and veteran Matt Ringhoffer also collected 2 hits and an rbi each for the Royals.
